Ultrasound

Ultrasound uses sound waves bouncing off of internal organs to allow us to look INSIDE an organ for changes in structure or even texture. This allows us to see the organs functioning in real-time and determine if they are working properly. This is a valuable diagnostic tool for looking for changes going on inside an organ or how an organ works (i.e., the heart). It also allows us to take needle biopsy samples that previously would have required surgery.
The training to perform these advanced examinations takes months to learn and several years to perfect. Dr. Kevin has been performing ultrasound exams for over 15 years.
This was previously only available from a specialist or teaching hospital… available at SunShine Animal Hospital.
